The volume of art and art history has an even longer existence than the history and archeology volume, the first issue dating from 1931 under the name Mitteilungen aus dem Baron von Brukenthalishen Museum. Since 1956, the volume appeared under the name Studii şi comunicări. Muzeul Brukenthal, including articles in Romanian and other international languages. Since 2006 the magazine circulation was resumed under the name Brukenthal.Acta Musei and since 2011 the magazine is published in English only.
