The Restoration – Conservation Laboratory of Brukenthal National Museum operates since 1975 in the Blue House, the building on the left side of Brukenthal Palace. Restoration experts, conservation specialists, one physicochemical investigations expert and a professional photographer work in the 11 specialized laboratories. Items from the Museum's collections, as well as items from other institutions and private individuals are restored here. The scientific activity of the laboratory is published in the Brukenthal Acta Musei 4 and other scientific journals and is presented on the occasion of exhibitions, symposiums and conferences in Romania and abroad.
The Laboratory is also associated with “Lucian Blaga” University as a partner in education, contributing to the formation of future specialists in restoration and conservation.
