Brukenthal Library and the National Archives of Romania – Sibiu Office preserve important documents for the Brukenthal family. Some of the documents contain only tangential information on Sophia von Brukenthal ( as Samuel von Brukenthal`s wife), while relevant data are to be found in manuscripts, poems composed for their marriage, for Sophia`s funeral, on the occasion of Samuel von Brukenthal being appointed Governor of Transylvania, in household registers and correspondence.
The documents are written in German, French and Latin and the most important of them were translated by dr. Alexandru Sonoc.
