Exhibition: In search of Sophia

According to customs, a special poem was composed for Sophia`s funeral, praising her virtues: faith, morality, generosity, care for the afflicted, rare intelligence, gentleness, appreciation of people regardless their social status, tireless care for the household, love for the spouse and family. The author underlines the respect shown by the Empress Maria Theresia to Sophia von Brukenthal and the love shown to the baroness by her subjects. The archives also preserve the funeral hymns, sung for Sophia.
