Text from the exhibition curator: During history, jewels were associated with the idea of beauty, wealth and miracle. Each of these facets influenced human history for the better – developing aesthetic aptitudes or for the worse – unleashing passions and bringing misfortune. The economic aspect of precious stones and metals is what led to hoarding and collecting jewelry. Structurally inclined to beauty, women have always been tempted to collect and to invest emotionally in jewelry. Based on this observation, the exhibition "Jewelry collection – every woman's dream" aims to be an insight into the "jewelry world", providing information on the meanings of wearing jewelry, the materials they are made of etc. There will be on display jewelry from the Treasury Collection of the Museum of History along semiprecious stones from the Geological Collection of the Natural History Museum (the Brukenthal, Jikeli, and Bielz Collections) and jewelry from private collections. Making jewelry also has become a hobby, a way to relaxation, but also an opportunity to have unique accessories. In this respect, pieces from the collection of Mrs. Angela Gabriela Popescu ("Lucian Blaga" University) will be displayed as well. Using semiprecious stones, she has made her own collection of jewelry.
