Text from the exhibition curator: Martin Frommelt was born in Liechtenstein in 1933. He specialized for three years in painting. During his art studies in Paris, between 1952 and 1962, Frommelt joined in an artistic movement concerned with the integration of art in architecture as well as in public spaces. At his return to Liechtenstein, Martin Frommelt participated in various contests focused on art integration in public spaces. His grand graphic project was The Apocalypse of St. John (1970), followed by a second project "Vähtrieb-Viehtrieb" (1986). 10 years later the artist presented "CREATION – 5 constellation of creation" (1989-1999), an opus magnum project after which he dedicated himself to a concrete and enamel sculpture entitled SPINIEU. During 2004-2007, Frommelt created a series of 60 enamel sculptures. Since then, the artist endeavored in free painting to which is associated the ARCH series, inspired by a visit to the Arches National Park in Utah, USA. The exhibition in Sibiu presents paintings that are on display for the first time. The works by Martin Frommelt are to be found as part of prestigious private and public collections as Kunsthaus Zürich, Grafische Sammlung ETH Zürich, Albertina (Vienna), Kolumba Museum (Köln), Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein, Hilti Art Fondation Liechtenstein, Mezzanin Stiftung für Kunst Liechtenstein etc.
