Text from the exhibition curator: Attested in various domains as painting, mural painting and mural painting restoration, Grigore Popescu-Muscel creation was displayed in numerous exhibitions and was rewarded with awards, medals and diplomas. The present exhibition presents a retrospective selection of his paintings that was described by Cătălin Davidescu as follows: The artist manifests his day-light-being in fresco but his easel work unveils his romantic, rebellious self: a dyonisiac manifesting his unrestless. He appertains to that particular typology of artists for whom lucidity exists into a well-established symbiosis with the intensity of the perceptive and affective feelings without interfering in excess.
