Text from the exhibition curator: Liviu Suhar is professor and doctoral tutor at the Fine Arts and Design Faculty inside „George Enescu” University in Iaşi. A member of the Romanian Artists’ Union since 1970, had his works displayed in more than 100 group and solo exhibitions opened in Romania: Bucharest, Constanţa, Cluj, Timişoara, Galaţi, Baia Mare, Arad and abroad: Berlin, Poitiers, Colombo, Liege, Lisbon, Moscow, Rome, Dublin, Perugia, Bari, Liege, Brussels, Zagreb, Novi Sad, Sarajevo, Sofia, Amsterdam, Athens, Budapest, Stuttgart, Lausanne, Madrid, Vienna, Venice etc., The 50 works on display are bringing to the general public a demonstration of profound and sophisticated approach of painting, endowed with sensitivity and emotion emerged from artist’s personal style that was built along his impressive activity: the shapes are translated into essence but firmly articulated, ordered in strong and elaborate constructions through the means of reliable creative gestures; there is refinement and chromatic intensity to be found in Liviu Suhar’s works, all evincing a deep intellectual understanding of painting, strange conceptual associations and traces of subtle eroticism disturbed by metaphysical unrestlessness.
