“Heat is blue, blue light burns smoulderingly to support the so fragile life”, Anca Coller.
On Friday, June 21, 2024, at the Museum of Contemporary Art, starting at 11 o’clock a.m., the public is invited to the opening of the contemporary art exhibition entitled “JOURNEY INTO A BLUE FLAME BURNING STOVE” by the artists Anca Coller and Iulian Gospodin. The same day, at 7 p.m., the exhibition will become the scene of a musical performance, made by the members of Crocodile Paradox band and their guest, Anghel Crisantos. The performance is based on the musical interpretation of the volume of contemporary poetry "Kaddish" signed by Radu Vancu. Public access to the events is free.
The project carried out by Anca Coller and the guest artist - Iulian Iulian Gospodin transforms a part of the space of the Brukenthal Museum of Contemporary Art in Sibiu, into a timeless universe. The exhibition hall has become a laboratory for the examination of the impassive future, at the centre of which is a reinterpreted stove, turned as if upside down: an earth oven on the outside and a matrix of blue light, built of tiles and fluorescent three-dimensional pieces, on the inside.
