The exhibition in the courtyard of the Brukenthal Palace includes images and texts about the man who was a Professor of Theatre Studies at the Sorbonne Nouvelle, Paris, and a world-renowned essayist. George Banu dedicated his critical work to modern theatre and its exemplary figures (Brook, Strehler, Grotowski, etc.).
The materials dedicated to the life and work of George Banu are supported by new media artworks by Oana Maria Cajal.
Oana Maria Cajal is an award-winning playwright, screenwriter, visual artist, and poet. She graduated from the Institute of Theatrical and Cinematographic Arts in Bucharest. In 1980 she immigrated to the USA with a scholarship offered by the American Theatre Critics Association. Oana Cajal received an MFA in Playwriting from the University of California San Diego.
For her, theatre and visual arts, image and word are always intrinsically connected.
