Text from Liviu Pripon, exhibition curator:
The exhibition entitled Romania – my country! aims at drawing the public attention towards Romania’s natural values that are to be found in the collections of the Museum of Natural History.
There are to be seen on display pieces representing animals living in Romania only (endemic species), animals that constitute the largest populations or animals that have comprised in their scientific name the Romanian extraction (because they were discovered in Romania).
Some of the animals presented are not familiar to the general public and it is important to be known and appreciated.
There are also presented the animals that stood as a symbol of the historical heraldry on the Romanian territories, for the importance they were granted by the national history and culture.
