Text from the exhibition curator:
The exhibition draws its inspiration from the icon production of the most important centres of religious art in Romania, each and every one of them being characterized by different stylistic motives.
Presented inside window-frames, Constantin’s icons emerged from a symbol and image of the Divine towards a dialogue between mundane and spiritual.
Trained and professing in restoration work on painted wood, the artists uses old window frames that were preserved by him and, if the case, restored.
The painted icon it is also adjoined to evangelical text, declining its extraction in Contantin’s artistic vision, al pieces on display – although contemporary art – being a reminder of the sources beyond time and space, as through a window.
