Text from the exhibition curators:
The exhibition issues an invitation into the dimension of the sacred space – one journey for two geographically distinct locations: the Holy Land and Mount Athos.
There are presented recent photos along maps and other cartography materials, realistic or fantastic, all illustrating the mirage exerted by these places on human mind during history.
The exhibition unfolds in accordance with the pilgrimage concept: from Jerusalem that stands for the ultimate mark of both physical and spiritual journey to a place where peregrinatio becomes synonymous with the monastic settle – Mount Athos.
