Tudor Zbârnea (b. 29.12.1955 in Nisporeni, Republic of Moldova) graduated at the Fine Arts College in Chişinău and Fine Arts Faculty in Iaşi, the Painting Department. He is a member of the Union of Artist in both Romania and the Republic of Moldova and of the International Association of Professional Artists with UNESCO, Paris. Since 2001 he is a resident of Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris. His first participation in an exhibition was in 1984 in Chişinău.
There are few stages to be considered from an esthetic and the imagery point of view, all constantly emphasizing the expressive role of the colour. The painting remains an artistic research focused on that part of the existences that tends to relate to the collective sub-consciousness.
Tudor Zbârnea participated in more than 250 exhibitions representative on both national and international level, of which 27 were personal ones, opened in museums and galleries in the Republic of Moldova, Romania, Belgium, Belarus, Check Republic, Cyprus, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Russia, Slovak Republic, Turkey, Ukraine). The artist’s work is appreciated by art historians and critics in both media and specialized literature.
