On May 15, 1767, Simon Friedrich von Baussnern established the St. Andrew at the three water-lily leaves” Freemason Lodge of Sibiu – St. Andreas zu den drei Seeblättern (1767 – 1790).
Through the means of the present exhibition, Brukenthal National Museum presents a part of its valuable heritage, presenting to the public in Sibiu, for the first time, an exhibition about the most important freemason lodge in the 18th c. Transylvania.
There are to be seen on display both a large number and a large verity of exhibits among which: necklaces, insignia, aprons, gloves, sigils and ritualistic objects (hammers, voting urns, skulls, hourglasses).
