Cultural project MAN – Museum Object

Purpose: Interdisciplinary approach of three heritage categories held by the National Brukenthal Museum (hunting, natural history and zooarcheology) through creative workshops, temporary exhibitions themed lectures held by specialists focused on the relationship man - nature, based on the principles of education for cultural and natural patrimony. Results: Workshops involving 21 students from the Arts High School in Sibiu, temporary exhibition The History written in BONE, public themed lectures (The national Zooarheological heritage contribution to current nature conservation, The importance of natural history collections; August von Spiess (1864 - 1953) – 150 years from his birth), temporary philatelic exhibition, temporary exhibition MAN – The Hunter (displaying the students work accomplished during the workshops), an exhibition catalog MAN – The Hunter. Target: Local audience of all ages, but also tourists visiting our museum. By participating at the temporary exhibitions (guided tours, exhibition labels in Romanian and English, the exhibition catalog) or attending the themed lectures, the public can discover new categories of cultural heritage and will experience their multidisciplinary usefulness in the sustainable development of the relationship man - nature.
