Text from FotoMedical:
What type of equipment is necessary in order to photograph in the operating room? How can intraoperative images be obtained or images that reveal the evolution of a patient after administrating a certain treatment, in order to present them at medical conferences, in journals or simply preserve them in personal archives? How can lighting be managed in the operating room? How is a medical photograph made and why is it useful?
In order to answer these questions, doctors and photographers are invited to participate in the “Medical photography – techniques, equipment, usage” seminar, which will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2014, 10:30 a.m., at Librăria Habitus (Habitus Bookshop). The discussion will be moderated by Dr. Horia Mureșian and Cristina Bobe. Dr. Horia Mureșian (http://www.horiamuresian.com) is a cardiovascular surgeon and anatomist, medical photographer of the heart, as well as head of the Cardiovascular Surgery Clinic at the University Hospital of Bucharest, while Cristina Bobe (http://www.cristinabobe.com) is the initiator of the first online medical photography platform in Romania (http://www.fotografiemedicala.ro).
The seminar is part of the “Gentle Violence” project, which consists of annual exhibitions that are dedicated to medical fine art photography and present images behind the closed doors of the operating rooms. The first such exhibition will take place September 5-28, 2014, at the Multimedia Hall (Sala Multimedia), Blue House (Casa Albastră), within the Brukenthal National Museum, and it includes the works of artists Cristina Bobe, Dr. Horia Mureșian and Sebastian Florea.
The seminar is organized by FotoMedical (http://www.fotografiemedicala.ro), Brukenthal National Museum and Librăria Habitus, in partnership with Photosetup.
