Old age

A study by Pew Research Center shows that there is a big difference between the projections of young people and adults about old age (more free time for family and travel, volunteering, hobbies or new projects) and the reality (illness, memory loss, loneliness, poor conditions).
In OECD member countries, women have a longer life expectancy than men but live longer in poverty and disease than they do.
Disparity is a consequence of inequality in education and career.
The resources for adapting to old age lie in respect for one's own person in relation to socio-economic status, family, social involvement and support.
In order to keep our hopes up for how we will live in old age, it is important to have an attitude toward the society in which we live today.
