The “Living Museum – 30 years since the Revolution of 1989” project co-financed by the Local Council and the City Hall of Sibiu

In October this year, Brukenthal National Museum is carrying out the project "The oldest prehistoric city in Romania dated by modern means". Co-financed by the Administration of the National Cultural Fund, the project is structured in two complementary parts: scientific research and promotion for educational purposes.
The component of scientific research concerns the writing of a scientific article, published in a journal with an archaeological profile of international circulation. Its purpose is to bring to the attention of the researchers new data that determine the absolute terms of the prehistoric city of Turdaș – Luncă.
The promotion and education component concerns the carrying out of exhibitions, online and outdoor, with the purpose of informing the public, at an accessible level, about the importance of archaeological research, the value of the archaeological heritage discovered on the Romanian territory and the technical way by which dating is done with radiocarbon in research institutes.
In support of the same idea, the popularization booklet was also made, which will be distributed free of charge to the public of the Altemberger House Museum of History.
The partner of the Brukenthal National Museum in carrying out the project is the "Horia Hulubei" National Research and Development Institute for Nuclear Physics and Engineering.
