In addition to an increasingly standardized collective memory in the manner of the textbooks and media content, after 30 years since the first pages of post-communist history were written, we can also speak of a predominantly festive memory - memorials or commemorative events.
However, future generations have the right to analyze and interpret history in a detached way, free of preconceptions.
Such an approach is possible only through the existence of a documentary memory – In other words, the existence of a permanent museum collection, constituted by the Museum of History within the Brukenthal National Museum, especially dedicated to the period of communism and the events of December 1989 in Sibiu.
