Because of the restrictions imposed by the pandemic situation, the year 2020 raised a series of impediments to the usual program of cultural institutions.
Brukenthal Museum managed this year to complete two projects co-financed by AFCN and a project co-financed by the Sibiu County Council, to have an uninterrupted activity within E-culture project, to increase the number of online and outdoor exhibitions, to reorganize the symposia in online format, to intensify the active conservation at headquarters and scientific research in telework during the lockdown and, last but not least, to be present in Oradea, Bistrița and Făgăraș with exhibitions of its own.
Many of the events mentioned above have been described in other exhibitions and posts hosted on this site; here we present the initiative of the Brukenthal National Museum in creating a framework platform to support the continuity of social reporting to culture, open to other institutions affected by the lack of meeting with the public, which hosted, in social distancing, concerts of the State Philharmonic Sibiu (Extraordinary Baron Brukenthal Day Concert and the opening of the Romanian International Organ Festival), Sibiu Jazz Competition, Este Film Festival, events from the Stradivarius International Tour and Classic Unlimited Tour as well as Blooms Day, an event organized by the Irish Embassy.
Although they benefited from live broadcasts and postings of Facebook recordings at the time, the events of this platform are the result of special efforts by both organizers and hosts, being essential landmarks in the 2020 agenda.
