The World in Photography exhibition presents photographs kept in the documentary graphics collection of the Brukenthal National Museum - Altemberger House History Museum and photographs from the Louis Guermond personal collection.
Made at the end of the 19th century, beginning of the 20th century, the selected images were taken in photographic workshops located in big cities of the world (London, Glasgow, Paris, Vienna, Prague, Odessa, Bucharest, but also Havana, Buenos Aires or Istanbul. ) and covers thematically the following distinct topics: general views of the cities of the world, streets and buildings, statues and bridges in the cities of the world, castles, ships, animals at the fair.
A special place is dedicated to portraits (children, women, men, groups) the most common topic in the portfolios of photo workshops. The images have traveled over time to Sibiu, being brought to light today and presented to the curious to see the world from the photos and the world photography.
