The Altemberger House History Museum, within the Brukenthal National Museum, invites the visiting public to find out some of the Romanian premieres in archeology!
The 12 photo-documentary panels present the first prehistoric city of Turdaș-Luncă, the 1874 discoveries of Zsófia von Torma – the first woman archeologist in Romania, the history of the research so far, which proved that, near the village of Turdaș, at Luncă point, it is the oldest urban settlement in the country (fortifications with a diameter of 1 km and 3-4 dwelling horizons).
Also, carbon dating and its principles are presented.
