Organized during May – September 2019, "The palace with two kitchens: Baroque culinary experiences at the residence of the Governor of Transylvania" project is co-financed by the National Cultural Fund Administration and implemented by Brukenthal National Museum.
Last year, the visiting public experienced at the Altemberger House Museum of History the medieval story of cooking, as part of "Cuisine at the Princely Court of Transylvania in the 16th Century" project. The culinary story continues this summer in Brukenthal Palace from July 26, together with: Jules Restaurant for a culinary show, Huniadi Cantores for a Baroque music concert and Elijah Association – Ruth Zenker Social Initiative for an educational activity.
Visitors to Brukenthal Palace can learn more about the history of the cuisine during 17th and 18th c. through the photo-documentary panels displayed in the inner courtyard as part of “Baroque cuisine” exhibition.
Also inside the project, the volume entitled "The palace with two kitchens: Baroque culinary experiences at the residence of the Governor of Transylvania" was launched.
The project supports the Sustainable Development Strategies of Sibiu County for the recognition of food and gastronomy on local and regional policy level, part of the Sibiu 2019 – European Gastronomic Region project.
