Text from the curators:

The value, we are conferring today to the medals and coins dedicated to Reformation, is due partly to their artistic charm, but also to their ability to offer a miniature reflection of their culture and historical period.
The Brukenthal National Museum collections are representative, when considering the wider collection of medals dedicated to Martin Luther and the Reformation, because they cover the whole period between the sixteenth and nineteenth centuries and all the iconographic spectrum from medals with portraits, medals dedicated to various jubilees or the Thirty Years War (1618-1638), to satirical ones or medals issued on the occasion of the foundation of various Protestant churches and schools.
