Text from the exhibition curators:

The exhibition presents icons painted on wood and glass, representing the Virgin Mary, Mother of God. Dated in the 17th and 18th centuries, the icons on display illustrate not only the traditional artistic patterns to be found in all Eastern-Orthodox Churches but also influences received from Renaissance and Baroque cultural backgrounds, do to the multiculturalism of Transylvanian province.
