Text from the exhibition curator:

The exhibition organized at the Museum of Natural History is part of the educational project “Plants in the German-Saxon Ethnography”. This project was developed through the partnership of three institutions of culture and education: Brukenthal National Museum, the ASTRA National Museum Complex and the “Samuel von Brukenthal” National College. A temporary exhibition, opened at the House of Arts, entitled “If flowers could talk…” was also organized inside the project. The exhibition focused mainly on displaying the embroideries with floral motifs present on the textile pieces owned by the ASTRA museum. The present exhibition focuses on the flower and the floral motif with its significations related to the life cycle, plant properties and their use in everyday life.
